HELP, I NEED IMPORTANT ADVICE: Who perfers fans, who prefers air conditioners? Which is better, and why?
Feb 22, 2015 by Conchita | Posted in Gender & Women's Studies
Cons: Fans are splashy, all they really do is circulate HOT air. If you can get get a stream to hit you, just right, you're happy for a little while... and then you get too cold. Lower it off and the second you do you become overheated again. They just can't cool the room down like an a/c.
Pros: they're cheap,
A/C: You have to close all your doors and windows and the balcony doors. You fancy to use your balcony, to get some sun and enjoy the flowers you planted - but you can't because it 120 degrees out there (my bldg faces directly SOUTH). You necessity to hermetically seal yourself in your prison cell (oops, sorry, I meant "apartment"). There are dust bunnies blowing everywhere, african experienced parrot dander, feathers from 3 birds, dust from dried birdpoops... *cough, cough*
The less up-market ones need to be put into a window. Wow, I seen being do thhis and it looks like oodles of fun (sarcasm). My only voice would be to pay for professional instalation, which I'm sure won't be cheap.
Pros: A/C can cool a room right down very quickly, and once lowered to a carefree temperature, that temperature can be maintained.
This is true about both portable A/C's and the window variety. What's different is the portable ones are extravagant AND you still need to hermetically seal yourself in your home. . However, the cons that applied to the portable machines applies to the stationary models do.
It snows here most of the year, do you have any impression what a joy it is for us when the weather warms up, we strip down, enjoy our balconies by decorating them (some people build "salt water gardens" with live fish in them: airpumps, filterpumps, you name it. Life plants like distilled water lillies or water hyacynths floating on the surface of the pond...Its amazing what creative people can make with just a few simple supplies.
Oh, and that central airconditioning thing you have in the USA, its is never seen in people's home; sometimes you will have in larger stores, like Safeway, banks, direction offices, shopping malls, etc.
Which option do you think is best?
Fans are beat because you are bringing air from outside and getting the air circulating. A/C just feels artificial, you lock all the exits and ruin cold air at you, fresh air is much better.

fans are better because they use less dash.
Pat | Feb 22, 2249
A/C because a fan doesn't In truth cool the room...it spreads around all the warm air (assuming it is a hot room) and with A/C you can alter the temperature however you like
if you defend in front of a fan, that isn't cool air hitting you. its the movement of the air that gives you a slight breeze, but it will not cool the whole room.

If you have enough hot days (predominantly 3 - 4 weeks of continual hot weather) over 74 (unless the temp gets much higher, then hem the time to 2 or ,more weeks) and the weather there is usually on an average of 65 year round or cooler, I would go with the A/C.
I can let slip you from personal experience, living in Texas during the summer without A/C and using only fans is not the pentacle of comfort, but it can be managed. You find yourself drinking a lot of bath-water, but that is the cost of no air conditioning.
Your best option with A/C is a portable floor unit. They require you only to vent the hot air out with a hose much like a dryer emit hose and you can move them to anywhere in the house you need when you may need it.
They look good since they don't hang out of the window and also do not block the view, can be stored, take precautions cool when necessary and will continually circulate the air when the proper temp is reached. If the temp does not go above 74 for the stretch I mentioned above, stick with the fans and begin to turn them in to cool the house in the morning and out during the day to draw the hot air out and away from you.
Have regard for that A/C units also have filters on them, where fans do not and that means that you will end up with cleaner air,

If I'm well-deserved going to be sitting in one place or sleeping, I prefer a fan. However, if I have housework to do, or it gets over 80 degrees or so in my residence, I turn on the AC.
The portable AC until the one poster mentioned sounds interesting. I've never heard of those! That might be your best bet if you can find one.

I disfavour air conditioning because I like being able to open the windows. However, it is seldom hot enough here to need air conditioning anyway. Myabe if I lived somewhere it was boiling hot all the without surcease I would feel differently.

I like air conditioners elevate surpass. I don't care if they cost more and are less energy efficient. It just seems like a waste of money to be paying for a fan to still be sitting their sweating my a$$ off because the fan is scarcely blowing hot air back at me.

Fans are crap-shooter because you are bringing air from outside and getting the air circulating. A/C just feels artificial, you lock all the exits and to the max cold air at you, fresh air is much better.

If some of you guys have shopped in Staples, for instil supplies, either for your kids or for yourselves. Staples usually have the 10cents paper folder, but this other folder which is translucent 2 pocket folders (something what like this folder from Avery: http://www.shoplet.com/AVE47811_Office_Supply_translucent_filch_portfolio.html).
Yea the folder is see through, plastic, with the 3 prongs to hold the papers, better than that version of Avery's. What I like about it is that it lasts all infuse with year long, and doesn't rip.

Passing the Polygraph for employment for state police?
Jul 22, 2009 by HOPE FOR THE BEDDER | Posted in Law Enforcement & Police
At my last job we would get to shop for goodies to unfashionable out to our clients.
We shopped in bulk and could not store the items in our office cos there was too little office space. So I stored the items in my as a gift- I have excess to where I was not able to give out everything I bought (all this was paid for by the company) so I still have a lot of items in my house now that I am no longer employed there.
I also took a stapler and office cache stuff like envelopes, and a whole puncher
I plan to state this when I do my Polygraph- to answer "have you ever stolen anything from profession?" will this disqualify me from being hired?
yes the company knew that we stored items in our house, they often caught attitudes if we tried to stock them in the office
MOre than meet no. This technically could be considered stealing though in reality it isn't. The best thing is that you are being honest and up front. Just explain the predicament to your examiner because they will ask you questions like, besides what we have discussed, have you ever stolen anything. They are more concerned about what you are hiding that what you admitted to. Unless it was something foremost like a vehicle or burglary or certain crimes. Best of luck to you.
