Why are christians so judgmental when the bible says think not I went to Catholic School for 6 years and even to seminary for 1 year to be a priest. My dad was always trying to get me to be Catholic too. I swear I have never met so many unimportant *** people in my life. In Catholic school all people ever did was call me a fag because I was nerdy. In seminary all people did was ***** at me for what I wore and what species of car I drove and how I talked. My dad has been one of the most verbally abusive people you could ever meet. And in all these situations people would brag about drugs girls fornication no one ever asked me to solicit with them or read the bible with them. And it seems like they define Christian as whether or not you support abortion and gay marriage. So I started affluent to protestant churches and this other group called the living stream ministry and they were nicer to me but were so judgmental of non christians and told me I was an effigy worshiper for being catholic and having a Jesus candle in my room, and every time the subject came up of superstar being a non-christian they were always Oh my gosh, GOD!! please save this person, I swear I cannot stand that, being so negative towards someone for not thinking the same way you to me is the same as judging them. Can anyone plea or recommend a different group I could join. And don't say atheist I'm not interested in leaving christianity.
We are not. In fact we leave that up to GOD!

God has told us all what is licence and wrong
We share that.
Telling you right from wrong is not judging you.
Telling you that you are doing something wrong is not judging you.
Weighty you that you will go to hell if you don't repent is not judging
All of these things are simply telling you what is God's truth.
Saying you are going to Abaddon because you are a bad person...THAT is judging
Judgment is guilt finding and sentence passing

God's job is to judge, and the Catholics are doing a fine job implying they are god.

People who requisite to own God to support their own vanity, are often very judgemental of others who aren't slaves to such foolishness

Try visiting some Baptist churches. Most are demonstrative and have sound doctrine.

Oh baby, looks like you're having a rough ride. I am a christian and although the bible teaches us that we have to judge some - homosexuals etc, i am never churlish to any individuals... it is moreso you don't believe in what they believe in. Try and find some online groups - or try an evangelical church - us evangelists are very well-disposed and would never shun anyone - just invite them into our church and improve their life etc.

there's only one sentiment you can do, and thats accept God. us christians aren't judgemental. we want the best for every person and the best is invariable life in heaven with God. we pray to God to save people or to give us the words to speak so more people can be saved. all Christians lust after is the best for people and we all should be spreading God's word.

I went to one of those "On top of the world Clapper / Shakers & Quakers" Churches with my mum about a year ago. It was weird but they weren't judgmental ... I foretell they didn't even care that I wasn't Christian. (Christianity is not or me though, I didn't go again)
Shinobenae | Jul 28, 2009
Being judgmental is one of Possibly man's greatest weaknesses. Probably that's why Christ told us to judge not. But we still do. I'd like to recommend "my" association; I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, (Mormon), but I can't guarantee a totally non-judgmental atmosphere there; we're as stained as any group of humans. Tell you what; instead of taking recommendations from people on this blog site, how about asking God in obsecration what church or group He'd have you investigate, then go from there? He knows your needs and will lead you accordingly, in His own time and way. Good luck!
logjam600 | Jul 28, 2009
In good faith, people in general are just judgmental. It's our nature and God understands that.
You're reading the bible out of context.
Matthew 7:5 says:
"You flimflammer, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
Basically, once we have cleaned our self up, it is ALRIGHT to counteract other people's mistakes in order to help them become a better Christian.
Judging them unfairly and being plain have the weight IS not something we should be doing though, just to clarify that.
It seems like what they were doing was trying to deliver you from what they see as sin, which is perfectly alright.
regina cordium | Jul 28, 2009
why are you so judgemental and generalizing all Christians into one congregation, hey look in the mirror and take the rod out of your own eye before you take the mote out of ours.
Adam G | Jul 28, 2009
First of all I don't have faith Catholicism and Christianity are the same religion. Catholics worship the virgin Mary almost as much as Jesus if not more, which is not what Christians do.
I am a non-denominational Christian and at my church we agreeable everyone with open arms. Of course if you want to come and not fix your life(we all have our stuff to work on) that's your choice but the people literally care about you.
The Christian church in America has become quite corrupt, it's become about money, power, and scandal. Which is not what God has intended. You prerequisite to find a church that preaches what God says and doesn't sugar-coat anything. Being a Christian isn't always easy and you don't always have that fuzzy feeling stomach. But it is worth it in the long run.
I don't think judging people is acceptable at all. Some people don't know how to disciple others and so it can get well across as being judgmental. I hope this helps! God bless!

Why do you think the need to join a particular group?
I liked being called a follower of Jesus because not one group has absolutely got what Jesus came to do right. And unfortunaltey Christians have really screwed that name up.
IAhavaU | Jul 28, 2009
I go to a nondenominational Christian church, and it is by far the most loving and welcoming guild of people I've ever encountered. My sister goes to a Southern Baptist school and they seem judgmental to me... It's sad, really. I try not to guess, and it's unfortunate that you've been around so much of that, and I'm really sorry. Pray about it; God will fix it :)
I agree, I can't stand when Christians are negative to non-Christians. They don't emergency to be condemned and excluded, they need the love of Christ the most... Sometimes Christians' logic doesn't fancy sense to me. But there's not much any one person can do about it.
Good luck, and God bless.

It's hominid nature for people to identify with the group they belong to, and to judge those outside the group as bad and wrong. This consequent tendency is not limited to Christians or even to religious groups in general. Consider how people from New York Diocese and the Kentucky mountains feel about each other's lifestyles, for example.
Some of the churches that are conscious to be non-judgemental are Unitarian Universalist, Quakers, Sameness, and Church of Religious Science (Science of Mind).
Jonathan Huie | Jul 28, 2009
This is simple (very common) among white Christians. I know that my response will raise an eyebrow or two, but it is really true. I have been around mostly virtuous Christians for years, and it is a very easy thing for them to judge folk. When I attended a black full gospel church, they were more agreeable to forgive and move on.
This is the very reason why the God has allowed the republican party to be purged; it is time to repent and get right! There is someone much worse than Obama in 2012. All this self honourable judging is not of God. God does not judge, and Jesus did not come here to condemn. Are your more powerful than they?
One day, I plan to write a list called "White Christianity" because whites embrace Jesus totally differently it seems. Persons on FOX say they infatuation the Lord then say all manner of ungodly things. Some of the things that come out of their mouth is akin to demonic.

Yes i ardour how you said your not interested in leaving Christianity. Also a Jesus candle in your room isn't going to get you closer to God, Jesus, the Undefiled Spirit, or Heaven! No matter where you r or what you do Jesus is going to be there for you. I have gone to my friends church with her b4 and she is a catholic. I didn't crave right at all because they were reading out of a book THAT WAS NOT THE BIBLE!! You never know what words, sentences, phrases, and books, they could have changed! Also they of they can do what they want then be like God Forgive me. Yes he will always forgive you but stop messing up learn from your lesson! The only reason they are being so appraise mental is because they hold other Christians at a higher standard. Not all Christians are like this. Try to find a good church to go to. Hop around till you find one. Try First Convocation of God or Baptist churches!! Don't try Jehovah's Witness!!
JORDAN | Jul 28, 2009
I am a Christian and proud to say it. I don't be informed who you encountered in the past and called you names. However, you are no better of worse than anyone else. It's not what they know say or preach that makes them "Christians". Being an real Christian is following Jesus footsteps all the way and not offending anyone on the way.
Many people will hide behind the "Christian Logo" and act as if they were perfect. The fact of the matter is that NO ONE is perfect and should leave it at that! If I call myself a Man of God and still treat others like dirt, then I have no part with a Loving God. He loves everyone, regardless of color, speed or creed. He does not make differentiations among people and just wants us to live according to his will.
My guide to you is: Don't worry about what people of any religion may say to you. They don't make who you are with their judgmental words or hypocritical remarks and in fact, they are in a much worse importance than you and me... They don't even know who their God is.
As you know, God is love and obviously, these immature people have forgot about that.
I want to speech the point to "idol worshiper". It is right what they say as far as idol worshiping. However, they are taking it as if you were worshiping a illustration. You, in your heart want to do the Right thing. You are looking for a place to belong to. God is here for you and has always been. I can only tell you to go to a church where they teach the bible in its sum total and not just parts. This way you will know that what they say and believe is the truth. Also, read your bible, starting in John, keeping in obey that the bible is your "manual" through life and that the most importance thing to do is to follow the 10 commandments. This way you can't go illegitimate. Chin up my friend!!

my parents are getting divorced.. divorce questions..?
Jul 28, 2009 by Hiya | Posted in Marriage & Divorce
so my parents are cogitative about divorce.
my family includes 3 cousins from my dad's side(since their parents died of car accident), my parents, me, my yonger companion and sister.
my brother does speed skating and he's pretty good that his coach is thinking about making him to be a deep down good professional skater. He thinks he might be able to go for olympics when he grows up.
my brother skates with one of my cousin and they preference skatin. practice is daily except on sundays. practice is far away but they go everyday to keep in focus. but skating has no fees if we volunteer monthly and thats enchanted care of because i like volunteering myself.
but the problem is that my dad hates them skating. and he is over reacting when it comes to skate and church. my mom wants to guy wire them until they graduate high school, but my dad literally hates skating that he kicked my mom, brother, and cousin out of the house. he told them to not to comeback until they rid of. he gave them 500 dollars and a key. when my parents fight, usually over skate and church, my dad cusses and yell and advertise my mom to get out of the house. he mentally pressures kids. my parents do business and my dad expects me to help him when its him who kicked out child whose supposed to work with him. when i say no, he says 'come on' and when i still say no, he intimidates me. sometimes when they fight, my dad disconnects electricity, internet so we cant do anything.
7people in our blood hates him but have to live with him cuz we are too young to be independent. now my mom's out he repeatedly says 'i dont care if you guys wanna go energetic with your mom. if you dont like me, you guys go out of the house too. because this house is mine.' he thinks home, cars, and business put by is his when my mom worked as much as my dad. he doesnt allow a word about skating in this house. important thing is that there's no reason why he wants them to take off other than because we have to study. but my brother and cusin love skating more than anything that if they have to quit, they would cry and do nothing. and skating kept them healthy and socially quick.
other than that, when my mom goes out to church, he locks the door so we cant come in. he hides the key so we cant go anywhere everytime they fight. our family is emotionally and mentally so worn out of him. he doesnt realize he is mentally wrong. what kind of dad and husband kicks his own children and wife out of the business and locks the door and hides keys?
now my cousin came in cuz he's my dad side's family but my mom and bro is still out at coach's house. my mom is active to get an apartment and work at a laundry place. she's trying to give him chance to be better and is thinking about divorce if he doesnt switch. my mom's side is coming soon to live with her and she's not sure what to do. im so tired of my dad because he's so stubborn and will not change. he's selfish and cares about himself and his haughtiness more than family and his own kids.
and for 8 years my mom took care of my dad's nephew and neices but he wont allow my mom's sides to attain here and learn. he's just selfish.
if my parents get divorced, will my mom be able to get enough money to stay on her own after they get divorced?
if court asks for us, children's, thought we all will say we like our mom better other than my two older cousins, because my mom is understanding and caring and giving, totally unlike our dad. will my mom be gifted to get enough money monthly to raise us?
and business store is under my mom's name.
what will my mom be able to get if they get divorced?
after all, its my dad who kicked her out and dont take charge of about family.
my mom will be able to get children custody, right?
i think my mom deserves the most, but im not sure in law terms..
please give me an answerable for...
everyone thinks he has mental issues.
Background Checks for Sunday School Teachers?
Jul 28, 2009 by John | Posted in Religion & Spirituality
Hi everyone. This is my first together posting here, but I've been lurking for a while. You really seem to have a great community here with lots of great religious views. I'm the Father of a small Interdenominational Christian Community, and am in the process of aquiring a new larger building. Here my staff is growing to grow quite a bit, and we have lots of new people joining and volunteering.
I'm ecstatic to see everyone so enthusiastic to help, and I actually need the help and everyone seems to be genuine great people, but my only concern is having people around children without first screening the backgrounds. Of line I'm not just going to screen new people, I plan to be fair and screen absolutely everyone so nobody feels singled out. I already told the members that I would do this before starting Sunday School classes and everyone agreed that it was totally important to do and volunteered their information for screening. Now I have all the info from the members, but I'm not sure where the best place is to get it checked.
Does anyone have any advantage advice for a good website that does "background checks", "encyclopaedic background reports", "Employee Screening", or anything like that. Possibly even one that specifically helps Religious Organizations for this purpose?
Now please don't take this the wrong way. I don't plan to shun people from my church because if I didn't accept people could change I wouldn't be running a church in the first place, but I'm not going to let just anyone teach Sunday School Classes, Bivouac, or go on field trips with the children.
sorry for the long winded question, and thanks for your help in go forward.
God Bless
thanks for the quick responses.
I have filed with the Department of Legal Affairs, and they do normally take be responsible for of this kind of thing, but they are taking too long. It's already been 6 months and I'm getting the run around. I'm going to open soon and beggary a faster more reliable resource.
The police department isn't much more help. they can only do local and aren't fast enough from what I approve of. I have several officers of the law that worship with us. I'm sorry I didn't include that in my original question.
I do trust in God, and I do trust my friends through Christ, but this is a episode of child safety, and there is NO harm in it, so I don't see the problem.
How to start a mission trip?
Jul 28, 2009 by cavsfan45 | Posted in Community Service
I've been reasonable about creating a mission trip to somewhere such as Africa with peers from school and church. The only thing is that I don't know how I could get "registered" to go somewhere. I have ideas to take a run-out powder steal money and such but I need a website or something that I could sign up to do it and get information. Thanks.
Why Obama used the word stupidy?
Jul 28, 2009 by Bill G | Posted in Current Events
A harvard enlightened man does not use words like stupidity and neither does an American President. He acted like a school kid by responding without astute the facts. The days in Rev Wrights church are now coming to the surface.
Does taking a stupid elective ruin my chances for getting into Brown University?
Jul 28, 2009 by Just Everheart | Posted in Higher Education (University +)
I am a sophomore in exorbitant school and it would be a dream to attend brown university. I got all A's for my semester averages, have a GPA of 5.6 out of 5 because I take honors classes. But, freshman year I had to take a foods distinction because it was the only class available. I also took Honors Geometry, Honors English, Honors Biology, Honors The human race History, French, Speech, and gym (which is required). This year I will be taking Intro to College Algebra Honors, Honors English 2, Honors Chemistry, French 3 Honors, Art and sketching (for half a semester). In the time to come I have more honors classes, AP classes, architectural drawing because I want to major in Architecture at Brown University. I am also in Color safeguard (and will be captain senior year probably) am in yearbook club, played the flute for 4 years, will be in first buddies ( a special education friends club), am in French club, and am hoping to be selected for authentic helpers next year. I do volunteer work with my church often. Do I have a chance of getting into brown university?
