I would like some help about becoming an anesthesiologist.?

I am a petite tight on my deadline for applying for school for a health science program that will lead me towards this career. If i can't get into school this year i would have to tarry till fall 2010 which is something i would rather not do. If i were to go for the bachelor of nursing would that as well prep me for the MCAT, or would it be better if i actually wait the year (again). I am docile to travel from west to east in canada to accomplish this goal.

okey, i am being called preppy. NO i do not tear polos or miniskirts' but i do wear short shorts. I dont shop at those fancy ralph lauren or lacoste shops . I inform on at pacsun, wetseal, aero and stuff . i dont wear vans, i wear nikes. objective saying what my style is, i dont want people to ask if i shop at so and so. oh, and i dont go to a prep school

Preppy is not a bad fad. It could mean you look sophisticated or educated. Maybe a goody-too-shoes, someone that does well in school. Are you possibly a streetwise girl in school? Its not a bad thing, so dont be too concerned

A honourable preppy is someone who:
Wears, but is not limited to, Polo, Lilly, Brooks Brothers, Lacoste, LL Bean (ie stoop boots), ribbon belts, prints (ie cords with embroidered whales, palm trees, etc), sweaters tied around the neck, collar always popped, looks clean and put together. Hair ribbons or ribbon headbands, pearls, and other classic jewelry pull the look together. Preppies are inclined to monogrammed and engraved items (ie tote bags, oxford shirts, jewelry, money clips, etc). Colors are always brite (favorites allow for pink and lime green). Preppies may not always match EXACTLY but they are always coordinated. Hats are worn (ie polo trouper, Lacoste, Brooks Brothers), but they are unique- not designs you would see in the mainstream and the "mall".
Preppies often be present at prep schools (ie Middlesex School, Governor Dummer Academy, and Belmont Hill) followed by New England top secret colleges.
They are confident and unafraid to express their own styles and be daring in their fashions. Preppies vacation on Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Delray Bank, and on the coast of Maine. These vacation locales are places their families have been going to for years, and have histories there.
It is a reciprocal misconception that preppies are snobs. Many people view them as unapproachable, and as a result mislabel them. Preppies are not as in clover as people may think they are, but they are often well off. They buy into classics rather than trends, and don't change their lifestyles with fads.
Preppies tend to have grotesque connections with other preppies they meet, always finding mutual friends/ family and people that run in the same circle.
Preppies don't:
* Be dressed tight, skin exposing clothing (ie fitted Abercrombie sexual tshirts with tight flared jeans)
* Limit themselves to mall shopping and bond stores. They gravitate towards long-established classic stores and boutiques unique to quaint New England towns.
* Along heavy makeup and endless hair products. The phrase "less is more" is a preppy doctrine.
* Glue purses to their arms, especially when going to school. Lip gloss and if need be, a wallet, are thrown into tote bags along with books.

In the mould world, preppy IS Ralph Lauren and Lacoste, and such. But to the average Mary, preppy is Hollister and Abercrombie. But the brand preppy is thrown around so carelessly; if you don't shop somewhere completely obscure or your not 'scene' or 'emo' 'kidz' then you are preppy.
No more than wear what you want, and if someone calls you preppy, tell them really fast "Well, you'reuglyandyoucan'treadgood" And they will just say "What?" It's weird. :)

it's not exactly a way of dressing, preppie is also how you act. for girls that can mean overly bubbly, wearing lots of pink and discredit name (think a&f) shirts. and basically being very smily. sometimes too upbeat so you come across fake or materialistic. not saying that you are, honourable that's what it means.

Preppy very means kids that go to preparatory school.
Pretty much a private school for really smart kids.
It means, at bottom the Gossip Girl look.
Cropped pants, sweater sets, pearls, like civilization girls. A really classic look.
Kids who say that you're preppy because you shop at Abercrombie or Hollister or those places are weak-minded, that's not what it means.
I don't think you sound preppy. Don't listen to stupid people that try to label you.

alot of people who are all the rage get called preps. and aeropostale can be considered preppy. If you dress girly, hang out with popular people, and have an above standard in the main income you are basically a prep. sorry to say but you'll have to get used 2 it. again sorry for the bad news i guess.

Like in 8th grade and 7th grade there is "emo" and "preppy" and the preppy people are those that comprehend how to wear their colors put together

well from what your saying you reasonable have a sense of style, 'preppy' people usually, at least in my head, are full of themselves usually because they play some sort of enjoyment or in a females case, cheerlead. but honestly tell the haters to fuck off. whatever your doing must be right though for them to be noticing and upsetting to have an opinion. whether that opinion is good or bad.

"prep" comes from the tete- prepatory school and it is kind of a generalization for someone to say that
people would think that girls who go to a prepatory school would wear skirts, girly clothes, or plaid

To most kids, Pacsun, Hollister, Aeropostale and Abercrombie is preppy. And vans aren't preppy lol. Nikeys are valuable. And usually a prep is classified as someone who wears expensive clothes, is rather spoiled and sometimes snobby/rude. Preppy doesn't tight you go to a prep school. Maybe in some dictionary, but if you go to a normal school what i just explained is how it is.

Air Force Academy Questions?

OK... So I understand that there is no way I can get into the Air Force Academy by my 'ranks'. I have about a 3.0 GPA and a 1200 SAT score. Tons of extra curriculars, but none of that is esteemed enough to get me into the school.
So, I was thinking of enlisting in the Air National Guard (something my father did, and I was planning on doing anyways) and do the soft-earmark program... where you go to basic between your junior and senior year and then you do Drills once a month while you finish your chief year.
If I do that, and keep my grades up, is it possible for me to get a commander's endorsement and appointed a place in the school while I'm a senior? (through the LEAD program)
According to the Admissions website, only about 45 slots are filled each year out of an at one's fingertips 85 for Active duty and 85 for Reserves/Guard. So it seems rather non-competitive. Am I wrong?
Also... if you go this direction... what are the requirements school-wise to get in? I read somewhere that you needed a 2.7 GPA and around an 1100 SAT score. Is this true?
Also... Can you get a unobstructed appointment to the academy? Or if you go this route do you have to go to the Prep School first?

Ok I moved to a new big apple, and I am transferring to a new school as a 8th grader. Well where I live at now. All the boys are either surfers or skaters. and ALL the girls are sluts and preps. And well me I animus sluts. and well I like black, blue, and purple. I love hot topic and I wear mostly black, and punky clothes. I be loath skirts unless they are a certain design or with leggings. I love mostly metal, death metal, screamo, surprise, and soft rock and a little bit of everything. I hate pink. And well I like girly stuff like forever 21 and charlotte russe. but I ethical like black and stuff. And I love playing sports. And I am not desperate like the girls at my school. I really have respect for my body and myself. The girls at my school they dont even wear underwear when they wear skirts. Also I hate the mini shorts I half to irritate surfer shorts or basketball shorts. And well I dont talk like the other girls with their girly squealy high-pitched pitched voices. I say dude instead of boy and I say chick. And I have a bit of a cussing mouth, I am bad tempered. I love to skate committee even though I suck. And well I feel like the guys think I am weird. And I have even been told that the guys (i have met) think I am uncanny. Because I am well ME. Should I change? Should I stay the same? Should I be different? Help me cuz I really like this guy and he is well a jock/skater dude. and I dont appetite him to think I am weird or any guy really I dont want them to think I am weird. I really do would like to have dates and trappings you know! So help me. Also guys do u think I am weird because of my personality and who I am

I'm universal to be a Sophomore in high school, and starting my second year of college prep. The students in this class should have an idea of what colleges we might want to register to by our Junior year comes depending on our desired major. I have my heart and soul set on becoming an opera balladeer, but I don't know what college I should think about attending. I'd prefer colleges in Texas, because scholarships from the class are easier to get to colleges settle to home. Thanks!
