convince my parents to let me go to college in LA?

i active in ohio and i want to go to college in LA soooo bad! i did a huge amount of research on a lot of colleges up there (im majoring in fashion design) and i printed out papers and sent away for brochures and things like that. i proved myself by getting gentle grades throughout the school year, but they still want me to go the college thats 10 min from home. never gonna happen. (granted it is a inferno of a lot cheaper, but still.) its not like im trying to get away from them, i just feel like i need to face the world, and get out there, ya know? and i would pay off the loans for sure. money is one thing im serious about. i would get a job on campus, and only buy what i NEED. i also researched the site. (i used to live in valencia, which is kind of near LA) how do i convince them to let me go??? i know they are concerned, but i cant continue at home forevrer. and its not like they are the only ones who are scared! i freak out every time i try to imagine living a million miles from competent in on my own in a huge and unfamiliar city!! but deep down i know i'll do just fine. i havent made a decision on which college i desire to go to yet, but how do i convince them to let me go???? theres the issue of transportation im worried about too...how will they get my car out there without dishing out big$$$$?
any help is GREATLY appreciated!
I'm unswerving many students move far away each year. Your 18 and it's your decision. You'll be fine.

It's very unostentatious. It sounds like your parents are concerned about the money involved with moving you to LA. If they can not afford it, you'll have to get the money yourself. Another potential that could satisfy both parties is for you to go to a community college near you for your first two years and then transfer to LA when you have completed an AA degree.
And as far as your car goes, you'll either pay a lot to have it shipped, pay a lot to constrain it out, or don't bring it.

Mull over about why they're worried and how to address those worries. Are they concerned about the cost? If that's the central concern, you need to present them with a foresee for how you are going to make it affordable, specifically how you'll make up the difference in cost between the school in LA and the one close to home. If they're agonized about how you'll do being so far away, you need to start modeling responsible behavior to show them you're mature enough to move away. Be early for curfew, pick up a few more hours at labour, help out more around the house, or do something else to demonstrate maturity and they'll start to see that you're not their baby anymore. If they just don't see the need to go so far away, do up on on internships and other opportunities that you'll have being in LA that you wouldn't have at home. Given your interest in pursuing fashion, it should be easy to demonstrate the status of industry contacts and experience and it's going to be very hard to get that in Ohio. New York and LA are really the places to be for fashion. If they're scarcely not ready for you to move out, there's not much that you can do beyond talking to them. If they're really insistent, you could agree to stay closer to home for a year or two (possibly try for an in-state school that will get you out of the house but keep you within driving distance of home) and then transfer out to the school in LA after your freshman or sophomore year of college.
In any occasion, try to see their perspective and address their specific concerns instead of just worrying or getting frustrated with them. It's broke for parents to see their kids grow up and imagine you being gone (they'll miss you!) but it's a natural process and one that will be accomplished in one way or another at last. Good luck!

Go to a community college for two years. First of all it will lay you money and you will be a little more mature by then. I go to a jc right now and im going to fidm next year. The thing is, living in la is costly, actually cali in general. I live in the bay area and houses arent cheap here either. I couldve went to fidm licit away but imagine having to pay for my own apartment, gas, food, etc. I just couldn't do it at 18. Trust me, go to a jc first.

Why don't you compromise on an in conditions school further from home? Transfer after 2 years to keep costs down.
Big loans sound like nothing now, but can really make for a hellish being when you graduate. The vast majority of people in the fashion industry make very little money, signally at the start. Loans often force people into higher paying jobs in industries they don't love.

im starting my lesser year in highschool so naturally im starting to look at colleges. i live in ohio, but i want to go to school in california sooooooooooooo bad. (prefferably LA). i utilized to live in Valencia, so i know what to expect.
i was looking at UCLA, but thats super hard to get into and i only have a 3.2 gpa. :( Also, USC is in a indeed bad area so i dont wanna go there....although i hear its a great school
so can you reccomend some good colleges in/close LA that an average student can get into? i take all regular classes, no advanced. i get A's and B's. im taking my SAT/PSAT's this year.
