Has anyone joined the Peace Corps without a 4 yr. degree?
Jul 27, 2009 by algae | Posted in Community Service
I have always wanted to attach oneself to the Peace Corps, but have heard you have to have a 4 yr. degree to be accepted. I am 24, and have not attended any college, however I have 5 years of sustain working as a Montessori Teacher. So, I am wondering if there is anyone out there who has been accepted by Peace Corp, and is was/is in a similar situation as myself. Any input would be accommodating.
Why am I having such a hard time getting a retail job.?
Jul 27, 2009 by white brick home | Posted in Other - Careers & Employment
I'd like to vocation in a place that has two things: room for growth and high end clothing. I've applied to places like Saks and Intermix, they are hiring. I've been laid off for almost a year and my past two years of work experience is with childcare. I did have relevant experience when I was younger, about 5 years ago, but each position was terse term because I was young and didn't neccessarily need a job. I'm desperate to get into retail and begin building a pursuit with a company, I'm currently in school about to complete my Bachelor's in business.
But no one will hire me! Here is my resume (see below). Is there a way I can tell the future employer that although I haven't worked in retail it's where I want to be and build my career and I'm not just stating that in my open-minded because that's the job I'm applying for?
Also, would it be a bad thing to put my work history in order of relevance instead of chronologically?
Help!
Target: Enhance store image with excellent guest service, build clientele, and demonstrate top performing sales while developing a craft in retail.

the saving is bad, but it will get better. Hang in there
haven't you been paying publicity to the economy and news for that last year? the Retail sector is doing terribly - lots of companies have gone out fo occupation and sales are down - they have no need for new workers right now and if someone quits, they probably won;t be replacing them anytime soon - unquestionably will not start improving until next year - massive unemployment, no one wants to spend money they don;t have to, etc.
changing jobs every 6 months doesn't succour you either. employers want to see longevity - 2+ yrs at the same job
