Can anyone recommend a good handbag for me or a good place to buy them?
Jul 29, 2009 by Andee | Posted in Fashion & Accessories
I'm looking for a clever handbag to buy.
I want one that is probably about mid-sized, with enough room without looking huge.
I'm looking for something that will look cute with casual clothing (jeans & a t-shirt type thing) and something that I don't have to color coordinate with (blacks, whites, tans, greys, etc are benevolent colors).
I'm looking for either a cross-body handbag or an over-the-shoulder bag.
I'm looking for something under $150 or so.
As far as materials go, I'm not too picky aside from the the score that I'm *generally* not fond of the way patent leather looks (sometimes it's fine though), and I'm not fond of genuine leather.
If anyone could suggest a good handbag for me and/or stay a link to it, that would be excellent.
If not, what stores can you recommend for good handbags?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks.
I'll restrict out their websites.
I'm realizing I'll probably have to budge on my price, but I can deal with that.
estimate, marshalls, hollister, pacsun, and maybe charrlotte ruse

What do you think of my style (photo inside)?
Jul 29, 2009 by The boy from London | Posted in Fashion & Accessories
Is it okay, authentic, boring, cool? I am wearing:
* Grey fitted t-shirt
* Dark blue denim jeans (non-faded)
* Converses
* Lowering leather jacket
* A Union Jack (British flag) shoulder bag - because I am a Brit.
Another pic of the jacket: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaimelondonboy/3161586696/sizes/l/
Thanks! :]
littlemissplendid: no I don't get into the same clothes everyday. I wear polo shirts and button down shirts too. :]
Dream Fear: yeah it's summer but it was a small cool in the evening (when I took this photo) so I wore the jacket.
Honey: the only reason I mentioned I debilitate it because I am a Brit is because people here on Y/A may wonder why I have that bag. I don't go around in public telling people I am British. :P
what big is this? - description?

Its a genuinely big purse, its not leather or anything just a tote bag fabric, its has horizontal stripes, and goes over your shoulder.
I don't know what this purse is, I seen a young lady on you tube do a whats in my purse video using that bag. But I cannot find that video, I've been looking for hours. If anyone knows what I am talking about please lend a hand me!
If you don't know what I'm talking about please just recommend a big tote purse that has a zipper, I really want one for squeaky school. :)
I would, but I'm horrible at drawing :(
i wont be able to draw what is on my mind
Fashionable alternative to a school satchel?
Jul 27, 2009 by MiamiMortimer | Posted in Fashion & Accessories
Hi,
I'm looking for a over the shoulder satchel for denomination. Up to now I've had the usual patterned backpacks but now I want something smarter, something that mightn't neccessarily be immediately identifiable as a way of life bag. I'm tempted to look for brown leather satchels, but I'm open to any other ideas. I want the bag to be large enough to hold a lot of books, and well-established enough too-maybe the size of a laptop bag, but with more room. I don't mind bright colours, though I guess toned down would be more 'grown up'! As a schoolgirl I haven't got a big budget either. Also, it's important that the bag doesn't look like a handbag-so heaps of ruffles or folds or easy fabrics are out! What shops/online shops should I look for my bag in?
Thanks in advance! :D

What can I do to enhance my story?
Jul 22, 2009 by Kate (gnostic!) | Posted in Words & Wordplay
How can it be improved? Please give examples. I am starting AP english next year so I guess like I need to become a better writer.
The couple had only ten minutes to scuttle across the lengthy terminal to reach the certain flight of their journey. Hordes of people crowded the halls, hampering their ability to move swiftly through and slimming their chances of reaching the admissions. The lady was dressed in fashionable business attire, yet not the most practical for dashing through a bustling airport. Her midget, stylized, blonde hair wilted. The silky blue gray blouse she wore matched her explicit eyes. She struggled to keep up as her bulksome designer bag repeatedly slipped off her shoulder. The brunette haired man was dressed like manner, with sweat sullying his blue collared shirt. His features were stern and handsome. A red tie flailed about as he ran. He carried with him a authentic leather briefcase. One would say they were in their mid thirties. The woman lurched forward when unfortunately, her stiletto heel broke.
“Oh no!” she groaned. “Mike, I poor my heel,” stopping, she searched for her husband, awaiting a response but she already lost sight of him. Although her incomplete footwear slowed her down, she didn’t stall in trying to catch up to him.
“Our flight is delayed for a half hour,” Mike panted when she at length reached the gate.
“Oh great all that running and rushing and arguing was really necessary. Why didn’t you shelved for me?” she scolded him.
“Well Sandra, I thought I could get in line and I knew you were coming.”
“Really? Well look at my stigmatize new shoes!” she pointed to her feet reproachfully.
“Oooh bummer…” he replied sarcastically.
“That was not appreciated! But you advised of what would be? A drink.”
She surveyed the shops around them. No bar was in sight but she decided to stroll over to a convenience shop, which had by the looks of it, an array of refreshments foods and drinks. All the typical items appeared so she settled for a bottle of water and a pack of packet gum. She hadn’t had high hopes of obtaining a decent martini on her five-hour flight from New York to San Diego. Only being accomplished to enjoy the standard bloody Mary or vodka martini left her jaded of the lacking beverage preference in the air.
In her spare time after work, she liked to take her girlfriends out for cocktails. Lemondrops were her favorite. One of those always mollified her distress after a long day of completing her tasks as CEO of a large corporation. They were sour, sweet, and refreshing. She thought of herself as a connoisseur.
Catchy good material. The punctuation is fair, only missing a few commas, here and there. Extensive vocabulary. The opening is okay, some anxiousness, a bit of a reader hook--will they catch the flight? Pulls the reader into...the story?
But it's not a story. Nothing happens. At upper crust, this is a prologue, where characters are introduced and the protagonist's alcoholism mentioned elliptically.
Some other problems: "fagged of the lacking beverage," for example. What does that mean? "All that running...was necessary." Is that malice? "Mollified her stress." Another off word usage.
Also, you might name the characters earlier, and trade in their descriptions more subtly--more sumi-e than pointillism, if that makes sense to you. Their minds should be more interesting to the reader than their garb.
Category and POV are personal tastes, but you should consider third person point of view, rather than omniscient. Get into the head of one of the characters and rope there. Involve the readers by letting them live the incident via the POV character, moment by moment.
There are a lot of good books on inventive writing. I suggest you get one or two or ten of them and read them thoroughly. Keep writing! Write every day!

I made this bag 4 years ago using my unworn jeans and the handles from another bag. Sadly, until now I haven't had the time to write the instructions for this pattern. Maybe someday, I'll be able to complete this project.
