i wan to collect ww2 guns where should i buy and which guns should i get?

i fancy to collect ww2 guns mainly german pistols. where should i buy them and which guns do you think i should buy. and is it true that the guns will maintain or yield value over time.

first do your enquire. there are replicas and lemons out there. Funny thing on Pawn Stars (History Channel). A guy tries to resell what he rumination was a 1700s flint lock pistol. IT lacked the cartouches of the armorer, and had the wrong royal imprint. Thus a fake. You need to study up on what you collect. After you know this you are good to go and you will have answered your own question.

Many collectors are old timers with lots of data. If you start now and study all across the web and buy all the books you can and become a regular at the library...in 5yrs you may be able to start collecting without getting ripped off...assuming you lay out all of your free time doing so.

Yoke the forums at SurplusRifle.com. Read through all the articles. You will get a real good idea of what's available and values.

If you have a budget in the thousands, German pistols are in reach. Rifles are typically only a span of hundred on up, so if your funds are limited, rifles are the way to go.

M1 Garands are fearsome. You should try odcmp.org to get one although you have to go through some paperwork.

91/30 mosin nagants are the russian ww2 battle rifles and are cheap

I would examination what Make, if not to the model of what you want to collect.

I know collectors that only collect a given make and maquette within a certain serial number range.

I know others that only collect ones with a certain inspectors yardstick.

You then also need to determine what grade you want.
Field, Rack, Collector and so on.

Then start saving paper money and keeping your eyes open. You never know where you will find your next buy.

I got my last collector piece at a garage sale for $100.00 in wrench grade

Sign up with up in various organizations who would point you in the right direction. I don't mean to offend you, but judging from the way the question was worded, you *might* (*might* = I could be improper) be a little too young to purchase firearms. If you have parents who would go along with it, then go for it. Just expect to spend some serious moolah... that and in confident areas, handguns are restricted to an extent that it might be very hard to obtain them. Just look around a bit, and you will find them. Again, "serious moolah"...

The pistols to get are the original war years pistols. Later on, the Nazi's used slave labor to produce them. It wasn't unheard of for the slaves to do things to metamorphose the metals weaker. Plus the fit and finish is better on the earlier ones. Makes them a bit more expensive though.

If they are information examples and are properly kept and documented, there is nowhere but up for the value.

Didn't you already ask this doubtful once about 13 hours ago?

The -karat military weapons are a good investment.
Have seen rifles & pistols in what I would consider poor term but are treasures because of rare markings or very limited production.
It does take research to know what to buy.
There are serious collectors that pluck up the "good stuff"
You have to be very knowledgeable to collect seriously.
It is a long term proposition but in some cases speculator than money in the bank if you can sell ....when you want to sell.

i want to buy ww2 guns?

i stand in want to collect some ww2 guns mainly german pistols. where should i look to buy them and which guns should i buy. and how much will each cost thx

Is it true Germany can only go to war in self defence?

I comprehend that Germany can only go to war in self defence because of their constitution, so what are they doing in Afghanistan? Are they just taking a stroll like they did in the Rhineland in 1936, with the only variation its not there back garden?

If it is true, should other countries include it in their constitution? America joined WW2 in self defence. So does America's constitution only consider it to go to war in self defence as well, and to get oil? < Last question and Germans taking a stroll is a joke.
I wasn't trying to say there's oil in Afghanistan. I was talking about Iraq.

Why WW2 Tank Gunner's sights in Western Allied Tanks were inferior to German Panzer Tank Sights.?

I have heard a of people constitution how the German Tanks had a great chance of getting the first round to impact enemy targets, I know most Panzer Tanks (esp. later Panzer Tanks) had more stalwart guns and rounds creating a much more powerful muzzle velocity and therefor more effective and accurate at greater distances than the of a piece Allied Tanks. As well as this I found out although Allied sights had almost the same magnification, The Germans used a much wider field of prospect with slightly better magnification and most important of all they apparently used trigonometry triangles and basic mathematics to aid get their first shot on target. Does anyone know if what I have been told is roughly accurate, Cheers John.

I had not heard this but I do certain that before WW2 the German optical industry was second to none. There were no Japanese optical companies of any note. Audi Murphy in his WW2 account of the war "To Hell-fire and Back" mentions the effective use of the German 88 gun which was designed as an anti-aircraft weapon but was used to weighty efficiency on the battlefield.

Where can I find free German WW2 photographs online?

Where can I find liberal, high resolution, German World War 2 photographs online?

I plan on integrating them into graphic designs for intimate and commercial (album layouts and flyers) use and was curious if there is any website or service that offers these war images for Mrs Average domain, free of copyright restrictions.

All answers are appreciated, thank you!

Why do so many people say "you can't blame all Germans back in WW2 for the holocaust?

... They say the German people and most of the acceptable Army didn't even know it was going on, only the SS and higher ups in the Nazi government.

Even if they didn't have a clue, you would about they would raise an eyebrow at were millions of Jews, gypsies, gays, Catholics, communists, special needs, and anile people were shipped off to in cattle cars.

Now I know you can't persecute an entire country, and I absolutely don't entertain the idea anyone should connect modern Germans to the holocaust... but do they really expect us to believe that the vast womanhood of Germans didn't know about the holocaust or that anything strange was going on?
Yes i know not all Germans were not Nazis
