I have a question about high school supplies?
Do they send you a bibliography, or do you just take whatever and the teacher tells you any additional things you need?
Why do parents leave their children with grandparents so often?
I am for all not this type. I enjoy the time I have with my children whether I am a stay at home mother or work full-time...I've been in both instances. Anyway, my Mute's sister always pawn's her two young boys off on my Mother-in-Law and my MIL is always the one buying them their necessities or keeping them overnight, or buying school supplies and toys, ect. This is something that has been flourishing on in the 3 years I have known my Husband. It kills me that there isn't more parent-child bonding time. Both of the parents vocation full-time and they don't do extra-curricular activities...so there really is no excuse not to watch their own children. I think she has bewitched advantage of letting the kids spend time with the grandparents in view. However, this is a mutual thing where my MIL doesn't obey it obviously and it's just their way of doing things; as is for a lot of families. I have lost triplets and cannot imagine taking every choice moment for granted. I would love for my children in the future to hang out at grandma's for a bit but not every waking minute. I need the opportunity to raise my child; and cannot wait for that opportunity to come again. How do you handle things like this?
Lynsey - Of assuredly my MIL loves the time with her grandchildren; and my SIL is only with her children really when she is over @ my MIL house with them. I just think it defeats the intention of being a parent. LOL...it doesn't bother me a bit because I know I will be a parent the way I intend. You most definitely have to take advantage of help when fated...I had triplets, I know. BUT, I think it's immature when the grandparent is raising the child...just my opinion. A sprog needs their parents, not dropped off with "help" every waking minute.
